Jai-Paw Day Day 2026
Bark-tastic Day Out! Jai Paw Dog Day at Thornbridge Estate
To celebrate their Bronze Award win for Dog Friendly Business of the Year at the Visit Peak District, Derbyshire, and Derby Awards in March, Thornbridge Estate welcomed over 300 visitors for their first ever Jai Paw Dog Day (an homage to Thornbridge Brewery's flagship Jaipur beer), a celebration of dogs everywhere!
With fun for all the family, and even an appearance by a celebrity judge, it was a paws-itively fabulous day.
The sun shone on the grounds of Thornbridge Estate as dog lovers flocked grounds, packed with wagging tails and tasty treats for all the family.
Local dog friendly businesses were invited to show off their wares, and Thornbridge Beer flowed freely from the lively bar.
The real action was in the show ring. Canine contestants and their accompanying owners stole the spotlight in a series of crowd-pleasing contests, with ‘Best Biscuit Catcher’ proving the most popular round. Not far behind was the cheeky and ever controversial ‘Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home’, which had tails wagging and tongues talking.
Local MC Andrew Gray kept the energy high all day, cracking jokes and keeping the crowd on its toes.
There was a touch of star power, too. Antiques Roadshow favourite Will Farmer joined the fun as a celebrity judge, casting his eye over the cheerful Golden Oldie class.
With a great turnout and plenty of happy pups, organisers say the event was a tail wagging success. Thornbridge Estate MD, Olivia Cridland, is recorded as saying: "This is the best day. I wish we could do this every day."
Jai Paw Dog Day is set to return next year.
